Pretty Bitches Everywhere

You can find a pretty bitch, writing on her pretty blog, about her pretty things, flashing her pretty life, pretty much anywhere these days. And while that’s all fine and dandy, I feel like I should talk about something different here: real life. The ugly, ugly truth about the ugly lies we tell ourselves; myself included. If only I had that [insert designer item here] I would be happy. If only I got that [insert plastic surgery here] I would be more beautiful. If only I had [insert your lover or crushes name here-it better be Channing Tatum] I would feel complete. Well guess what people? EVEN IF WE GET THOSE THINGS WE ARE LEFT FEELING JUST AS EMPTY (OR BROKE) IF NOT MORE SO THAN BEFORE!!! Even worse, you may end up looking like Dolly Parton or Joan Rivers, except for the fact that you’re like, 20 or 30something (unacceptable)

And that’s the sad, ugly truth. We do all these things to ourselves, we buy all these things for ourselves, we lay our lives on the line for all this crap that’s external and so very temporary. And for what? For this image which is not reality anyway. For this shell of a person that we introduce as [insert your name here]

And yet, all along, we just had to look inside of ourselves to find our sense of self instead of defining it by the outsides. It’s okay to like things, it’s okay to love fashion and high end designers and their beautiful artistic creations. It’s a wonderful thing to appreciate the talent and hard work that goes into garment and accessory design/construction. But it’s the motive behind it that counts. It’s our reasoning behind these labels and the fabric hiding our very demons that in short, kill us every single day.

So I’ve decided that instead of pretending to be something I’m not, I’ll give you all the truth about myself each and every time I post on here. Because ultimately the truth will set you free, right? So here goes nothing…

I don’t care if you wear designer everything from the top of your $300 highlighted little head down to the Chanel nail polish on your toes or if you shop in a thrift store…If you have style, then you have it. If you know style, then you know it. Just because you’re wearing that fucking designer garb doesn’t mean you got it going on. Of course, there are those who do, and that’s cool. I’m not hating. I have nothing but love and a sense of awe for the very fortunate ones who literally have money oozing from their La Mer slathered pores. But for those of us who are a tad less fortunate, whose big spending spree is like $175 and instant anxiety attack occurs, we have to figure out ways around big spending without compromising our vanity of looking good. Now, what should a broke girl do about a thing like that..

Here’s a budget outfit that I wore. It’s simple, it’s easy, it may even be a little boring to some, but it doesn’t matter because it’s all about fit and color combinations-at least in my professional opinion. If you are trend aware and add basic classic pieces you can never go wrong. The best part is that this outfit cost me about $150. Yes the WHOLE outfit…
